Time for an Upgrade

Ahhh, I just love that new-site smell. Welcome to the new Prologue Games! The original format worked well for our first few months but it was becoming pretty obvious we needed a facelift around here. (and of course kick things off with a classy blog image)

So why did it take this long to redo the site? Well, I was foolishly hung up on trying to make the logo and it’s color scheme dictate how the entire site would work. I would always dive in and start to fiddle with colors and layout but it always came across as too jarring or forced. I had it in my mind that I shouldn’t “settle” for plain old white but after taking the advice of Mr. Phil Hall, it really did work well and I’m super happy with how everything turned out.

I also suffered from the programmer’s curse of wanting to do things myself. We’re obviously on a wordpress site but I was convinced the best plan was to find a free template then modify it to my heart’s content. Once again, this was *not* the most efficient use of my time. Finally I stumbled across the great theme Salient and it was love at first click. Between their built in responsive elements and the crazy powerful Theme Nectar and Visual Composer, the site almost built itself from there. The actual assembly took less than a day without a single line of custom code (and I didn’t have to worry about all the cross-browser/platform testing myself!). I can’t believe how effective that $55 was, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quick bootstrapped way to build their site.

So take a look around! You’ll see some familiar content like the blog:
